Agnese Della Rocca

I have been passionate about dogs since I was a child. Not being able to have one, I approached the world of dog shows and dog breeding in general, initially as a spectator, then helping friends to show their dogs, just for the passion of doing it.
I purchased my first Afghan hound in 1996 which I successfully exhibited throughout Europe, in 2000 the first afghan litter arrived which was followed by the affix (Way Up). From then to today I have raised several litters, obtaining many titles with my dogs in Italy and in the rest of Europe, but also in the USA and Asia. World Champions (Bob out of more than 200 afghans entered at the world championship in Budapest 2013), the first and only UK Champion of the breed, bred and owned in Italy, best of breed at Cruft out of over 200 dogs entered in 2015, many placings in Groups and Best in Show and specialty Best in Show., throughout Europe, including the most important sighthound events. Way Up has been the best kennel in Italy since 2009. For me it is very important that the morphology follows the original functionality of the breed, which is why my dogs always obtain the coursing license and I have produced several working champions in addition to the first two Dual Champion in my country.
I worked as a professional all breeds handler and groomer first at some important Italian kennels, then on my own together with my partner for several years. This has allowed me to appreciate and get to know many different breeds well and have a broad view of the entire dog world. Since 2007 I have been a member of the Italian Association of Afghan Hound boarding and since 2016 president of the same, for which I organize morphology and sporting events as well as educational/informative events on the breed. For the Association I publish a magazine on the Afghan hound that is distributed throughout the world. Since 2023 I have been judging my own breed hoping to be able to make, also from this aspect, a contribution to the pure bred dogs world, which I have always been so passionate about. In 2024 I added other group ten breeds. My passion for a fit for function hound is my guide as a breeder and as a judge.
